11:40 Building a new inter-disciplinary network in an emerging field - Challenges, opportunities and future plans

Learning and 'knowledge' facilitated by technology is becoming an exciting area bridging education, management and organizational studies. Critical examinations of such issues at the diverse European-wide workplaces necessarily demand inter-disciplinary linkages and crossing boundaries. This is conducted within the substantial literature and models, in related fields of enquiry (such as management and business, education and training, information and communication technologies, psychology, work sociology, design and technology, industrial relations, economics, socio-politics and policy studies). The challenges of establishing and consolidating emerging themes will be discussed at this informal session.
