How to reach the conference location from Düsseldorf Airport, by train, and by car.


Directions from Düsseldorf Airport

At Düsseldorf Airport, follow the sign for the SkyTrain, which is a shuttle connecting the airport with parking areas and the railway station. Take the direction to the railway station, which is marked by this sign:

At the railway station, watch out for a "Regionalbahn" (RB) or "RegionalExpress" (RE) to Oberhausen Hbf ("Hbf" means Main Station).

When you arrived (approximately 20min later) at Oberhausen Hbf it is only about 5 minutes by feet to the convention center! Your destination is "Kongresszentrum Oberhausen" - see Map 1 below!


Directions from Frankfurt Airport

This airport is farer away from the conference location but it is the destination of many international flight companies and therefore sometimes cheaper or in other ways better to reach. So take your flight and after arriving at the airport follow the signs to the airport's train station.
Every two hours there is a direct train connection to Oberhausen HBF and every half an hour there is a connection with at most 2 changes.
Please look at http://www.bahn.de for detailed schedules.
To avoid mistakes: the correct departure station is "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf". Do not confuse this station with "Frankfurt HBF"! (Hint: The correct fare one way is 66,- EUR (2nd Class) 101,- EUR (1st Class))

Directions from Shiphol Airport (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

This airport is as far away as Frankfurt (see above) from the conference location but it is the destination of many international flight companies and therefore sometimes cheaper or in other ways better to reach. So take your flight and after arriving at the airport follow the signs to the airport's train station.
You may plan your train trip from Schiphol (the Amsterdam Airport) to Oberhausen at the site of the Dutch Railways (fill in Schiphol as a departure station).

It is also easy to reach the conference location by train. Just take a connection to Oberhausen Hbf (Main Station). Please consult www.bahn.de for further information. From there it is only about 5 minutes by feet to the convention center! Your destination is "Kongresszentrum Oberhausen" - see Map 1 below!

Directions by car
You can of course also reach Oberhausen by car. Map 2 shows traveling directions to the convention centre.

If you arrive from the direction of Cologne:
-take the A3 up to junction "Duisburg Kaiserberg"
-there change to A40, direction "Essen/Oberhausen"
-follow the A40 until exit "Mülheim Styrum"
-at the traffic lights turn off to the left
-follow that street (Mülhe<imer Str.) until it crosses the street "Schwartzstr."
-turn off left there and then turn off left again into "Düppelstraße"
-now you should be arrived at the convention centre!

If your arrive from the direction of Hannover:
-take the A3 (which directly passes into the A2 near Oberhausen)
-at junction "Duisburg-Oberhausen" change to the A42, direction "Dortmund"
-exit at "Oberhausen Zentrum"
-at the traffic lights turn off right
-follow that street (Mülheimer Str.) until it crosses the street "Schwartzstr."
-turn off left there and then turn off left again into "Düppelstraße"
-now you should be arrived at the convention centre!

If your arrive from the direction of Essen or Dortmund :
-take the A40 and exit at "Mülheim Styrum"
-at the traffic lights turn off right
-follow that street (Mülheimer Str.) until it crosses the street "Schwartzstr."
-turn off left there and then turn off left again into "Düppelstraße"
-now you should be arrived at the convention centre!
